There’s something about fireworks that bring out the child in all of us. My grandmother loved a good fireworks display. I remember her face, so full of wonder and delight, as streamers of silver and gold filled the sky on her 75th birthday. What a thrill. It’s rare that the photo is ever as magic as the real thing, but Alicia Taylor‘s images of fireworks really are electric. Shot near her Elizabeth bay home, Rockets and Romance goes on display in Sydney this week. “I remember being so amazed at how close the fireworks were, I could see so much detail. So, in a split-second I decided to capture them,” says Taylor. “Above all, I just love the celebration and fun fireworks bring to the dark beauty and romance of the sky.”
