One of my favourite self portraits is Picasso’s self portrait during his blue period. I saw the painting years ago on a school trip to the Picasso Museum in Paris and I loved it immediately. It’s true that I gravitate towards hot colours –– red, orange and schiaparelli pink –– but I do love the cool and calm of blue. With every shade of sea and sky, this room caught my eye this morning. It’s just the place for reading and writing and imagining deep sea swims.
