I find these images of flowers in thawing ice by Japanese photographer,  Kenji Shibata quite moving. “Choreographed by an expert hand, the flowers become more than themselves: alien landscapes, abstract smears of color, stunning centerpieces veiled by frost.” I see the flowers trapped in the ice, and then I imagine their slow and graceful movement to the surface as the ice melts.
